Elementary knowledge of patterns of social and geographical language variation in Arabic Elementary knowledge of the historical development of Arabic Basic knowledge of the typological classification of Arabic To know and understand the phonological, morphological and syntactic language system (intermediate level) Intermediate knowledge of the grammatical rules of Arabic and to be able to apply them in basic sentences To be able to use the knowledge of the language system in order to understand basic utterances in Arabic (intermediate level)
