Description

The students are able to: Explain the relationship between structure and reactivity of (bio)molecules. Clarify the structural organization of matter, from the smallest level (the structure of atoms) to the highest level (the three-dimensional structure of (bio)molecules) Explain and apply the parameters that determine the reactivity of chemical compounds, such as electronegativity, electron density, spontaneous reactions, electronic substituent effect, 3 dimensional structure etc Apply relationship between structural organization and reactivity of carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, amino acids and proteins. Show practical skills, such as weighing, pipetting, titration, filtration, extraction and chromatography. Interpret and process experimental data. Apply rules on environmental health and safety during their practical work.
