After this course, students are able to: Describe the structure and biochemical composition of the different biomolecules (DNA, RNA, proteins and lipids) Describe and illustrate the relation between biomolecules Describe and apply the different steps in the central dogma of the molecular biology in detail Explain the different basic principles of catalysis and biosynthesis Explain the mechanisms that lead to mistakes in the genetic material Explain the mechanisms of DNA repair Explain the mechanisms that lead to human genetic variations and explain the consequences Apply and explain general techniques of DNA technology Explain the cell metabolism and energy flows Integrate and critically apply all concepts and knowledge above Discuss with fellow students in a respectful manner in order to come to a mutual conclusion
