What exactly are data? In which formats do they exist, and how are they processed? Are there principles for handling research data? What societal consequences does increasing datafication have – and how should they be assessed? What role do data play in deepfakes, artificial intelligence, or facial recognition? Exciting questions... The Moodle course provides a first, low-threshold insight into data-oriented work and basic principles of processing. It also informs about normative aspects of data handling and about dangers of economic as well as scientific processing.
