Honours Classical and Quantum Mechanics
Description
This course uses advanced formalisms to develop concepts of classical mechanics with respect to the kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies and systems. It covers two and three dimensional motion, basic conservation laws and Lagrange's and Hamilton's equations. Transitioning to quantum physics, the course covers formal quantum theory, quantum measurement, entanglement, time evolution, angular momentum theory and applications in quantum information theory including quantum key distribution. Advanced topics in the course may vary year to year. Assumed Knowledge: Undergrad Science degree with Physics Major.
