Description

New technologies increasing impact the production, consumption and transaction of cultural objects. Through artificial intelligence (AI), digital collectibles (e.g., NFT) and immersive experiences, the rules of engagement and mediation are being radically redefined. This course maps the changing reality of contemporary digital culture & artistic practices by considering these new aesthetics in relation to more familiar art histories. We cover, to varying degrees, all the usual cultural sectors: Radio/Television, Books/Publishing, Cinema/Film, Music, Live Performance/Performing Arts, Visual Arts (painting, photography, etc.), Museums and Galleries, Advertising and Design, Video Games.
