Description

The course introduces students to the aesthetic and functional aspects of ceramics as well as the various artistic expressions with clay materials. Through investigating into the aesthetic preferences and life styles of specific periods in the Chinese and Western cultures, students are expected to apply multidisciplinary approaches to produce communicative artworks and design products, which serve the aesthetic and functional needs of everyday life. Medium of instruction (per EdUHK GAO course list): English. EdUHK exchange students are typically limited to a maximum of 5 courses (15 credits) per semester. Most but not all classes at EdUHK are taught in English (EMI); some are taught in Cantonese (CMI) or Putonghua. Some courses may have prerequisites, and registration must be completed via the EdUHK Portal during the published add/drop window. Only the CRNs published in the official GAO EMI/CMI Course List are open to exchange students.
