CONTEXTUAL STUDIES OF ART
Description
The course is designed for an introductory study of Western, Chinese and Hong Kong art in a contextual approach. By examining major art genres and reflecting on the relevant factors in their cultural background, students will understand the art forms and their relationship to the social, technological, religious and cultural developments. The course will provide a solid foundation for understanding art and enhance students' aesthetic sensitivity towards art. Medium of instruction (per EdUHK GAO course list): English. EdUHK exchange students are typically limited to a maximum of 5 courses (15 credits) per semester. Most but not all classes at EdUHK are taught in English (EMI); some are taught in Cantonese (CMI) or Putonghua. Some courses may have prerequisites, and registration must be completed via the EdUHK Portal during the published add/drop window. Only the CRNs published in the official GAO EMI/CMI Course List are open to exchange students.
