Description

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of how visitors experience and respond to new museum scenographies through collaboration with the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, combining field observation, qualitative data collection and analysis of real-world exhibition contexts. Integrating the course objectives and learning outcomes, students identify market insights and analyse market trends related to visitor behaviour, examine sustainable dilemmas in curatorial and design practices, and formulate strategic responses to enhance meaning-making and engagement. By adopting a systems thinking approach, they develop the critical and analytical skills required to propose innovative, evidence-based exhibition strategies and contribute to the transformation of museums in line with evolving visitor expectations and desirable futures.
