Description

In the Faculty of Theology, writing a graduation thesis is not mandatory, but setting a topic of interest, planning, conducting literature review and field research, and completing the writing process is a valuable experience. It is a good opportunity to summarize your university studies. Please take on the challenge. Topics can broadly cover Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and other religions. Interdisciplinary topics such as "Religion and Art," "Religion and Politics," or "Religion and Science" are also acceptable. However, a graduation thesis differs from a personal essay or report; it must be a scholarly research project conducted under faculty supervision, following academic methods. Therefore, sufficient guidance from an advisor is necessary. Students expecting to graduate in March 2027 and wishing to write their thesis under the supervision of ADA TAGGAR-COHEN should register for this "Graduation Thesis" course. Also, please register for "Hittite Kingdom History Seminar" and "Jewish Women Seminar." If registration is not possible, please consult the instructor in advance. Students will complete a graduation thesis summarizing their university studies. They will define a research theme (clear question), collect relevant materials, thoroughly digest the content, think deeply toward a convincing conclusion, and organize it in an understandable form (critical thinking, judgment, and expression skills). They will confirm whether they have the necessary knowledge and skills and supplement any deficiencies. Additionally, through participation in seminar classes and exposure to other students' research and presentations, they will recognize perspectives they lack and actively offer constructive opinions (autonomy, diversity, collaboration).
