Description

This seminar is designed for those aiming to obtain a teaching license for the religious subject (Bible studies) at Christian junior high schools. Its purpose is to cultivate the knowledge, techniques, and mindset necessary for teaching religious subjects (Bible studies) at the junior high school level. In A2, to develop the ability to translate content into education, materials include the New Testament, church history, and contemporary religious issues (cults, human rights, service learning). Furthermore, students create short religious educational talks (worship messages), which are emphasized in junior high religious education, to develop educational expression and reflective skills. This course comprehensively fosters the educational philosophy, religious understanding, and ethical sensitivity required of religious subject teachers. Since the religious teaching license also requires participation in worship (Chapel Hour) at Christian schools, attendance at the Chapel Hour organized by the Christian Culture Center and submission of reports are assigned as "out-of-class learning" tasks. Knowledge and skills: Understand the New Testament (Jesus' teachings, parables, miracles, Pauline epistles, passion and resurrection) from an educational perspective and organize it for junior high students; grasp the flow of church history (early church to Reformation to modern times) and explain it as background for religious education; understand contemporary issues such as cults and service learning in relation to religious education and explain appropriate teaching considerations for junior high students. Autonomy, diversity, and collaboration: Acquire social skills to facilitate classroom dialogue while considering diverse religious and value perspectives of junior high students; through message presentations and peer evaluations, reflect on one's own talks and collaboratively gain perspectives for improving lessons.
