Description

This seminar is designed for those aiming to obtain a teaching license for the religious subject (Bible studies) at Christian junior high schools. Its purpose is to cultivate the knowledge, techniques, and mindset necessary for teaching religious subjects (Bible studies) at the junior high school level. It also covers foundational understanding of religious education, including themes such as the philosophy of religious education, characteristics of religious subjects, ethical considerations in dialogic teaching, group dynamics, human rights education, and curriculum theory. Additionally, the Old Testament (Genesis and Exodus) is re-examined from educational and theological perspectives to build a foundation for content necessary in junior high school religious education. Since the religious teaching license also requires participation in worship (Chapel Hour) at Christian schools, attendance at the Chapel Hour organized by the Christian Culture Center and submission of reports are assigned as "out-of-class learning" tasks. Knowledge and skills: Understand and explain the purpose, philosophy, and historical background of religious (Bible) education; grasp the main stories of the Old Testament (Genesis and Exodus) as educational content and organize key points suitable for junior high students; understand the characteristics of religious subjects (dialogue, reflection, character formation) and human rights perspectives, and explain the basics of lesson design. Autonomy, diversity, and collaboration: Actively participate in discussions and group work, respecting diverse religious and value perspectives of others while learning collaboratively; understand and embody the attitudes required of religious subject teachers (sincerity, fairness, respect for individual dignity).
