Ethics in nursing

Description

This course explores the concepts, theories, and principles of nursing ethics. Students will examine ethical issues that may arise in clinical practice and learn how to anticipate and respond appropriately. The course aims to foster ethical values and principles that guide professional nursing decisions, and to equip students with tools for effective ethical decision-making. Projected Results: ● PO4: Perform nursing practice in accordance with laws and ethics. (L2) Competency: CO4.1 – Recognize legal and ethical responsibilities of the nursing profession Teaching Methods: Face-to-face lectures, group discussion and debate Assessment Methods: Formative assessment, Nursing Ethics Dilemma Case Report, Midterm Examination ● PO6: Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote health and solve health problems. (L2) Competency: CO6.2 – Collaborate based on the principles and values of teamwork Teaching Methods: Face-to-face lectures Assessment Methods: Attendance, Final Examination ● PO7: Develop leadership for personal and professional growth. (L2) Competency: CO8.1 – Develop professional competency and leadership through self-reflection Teaching Methods: Face-to-face lectures Assessment Methods: Reflective Report on Nursing Ethics Dilemma Performance Levels and Course Achievement Criteria Minimum Course Achievement Target: At least 70% of enrolled students must achieve a “Medium” level or higher. Performance Levels: High: Total score of 90 points or above based on course evaluation criteria Medium: Total score between 70–89 points Low: Total score below 70 points
