Operating Systems
Description
In this course, students will learn about the internal structure of operating systems. They will discuss the principles and policies of core components of operating systems such as process, synchronization, virtual memory, file system and I/O handling. In addition, they conduct several projects (including one team project) to understand how to realize such components. In 2025, the curriculum is significantly revamped with the latest technological content, being supported by the Software-Centered University program. This includes a substantial expansion of lecture topics on semiconductor hardware and software, such as Solid State Drives (SSD) and the Flash Translation Layer (FTL).
