This course introduces the fundamental concepts and processes of venture creation, focusing on entrepreneurship, startup strategy, and market validation. Students will learn how to develop business ideas, design business models, and prepare business plans by examining real-world startup cases and venture investment practices. The course covers the full lifecycle of a startup, including opportunity identification, early-stage strategy, marketing, fundraising, and exit strategies such as IPOs and acquisitions. Through lectures, case analyses, and discussions, students will develop an understanding of entrepreneurial decision-making and gain practical insights into how startups grow and scale in competitive markets. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze startup businesses from both an entrepreneur’s and an investor’s perspective, and effectively communicate business value through structured business plans and investor-oriented presentations. Projected Results: Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to achieve the following outcomes: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the venture creation process, from idea generation to business planning, fundraising, and exit strategies. Apply entrepreneurial and business concepts to analyze real-world startup cases and identify strategic opportunities and challenges. Evaluate startup businesses from both entrepreneurial and investor perspectives, using basic market and investment criteria.
