Description

This seminar will involve reading texts related to economics, conducting mathematical exercises, and providing lectures on common knowledge necessary for academic pursuits. 1. Reading of the economics text 'What is Price?' Students will be divided into small groups, each assigned a section of the text to explain, while others participate in discussions. Through this text, students will engage with economic thinking and develop the ability to interpret economic statistics and summarized data. 2. Mathematical exercises will provide foundational training in mathematics used in social sciences, including lectures and exercises on linear algebra for beginners, a review of sequences and calculus from high school mathematics, and lectures and exercises on calculus from the science high school curriculum. 3. Additional lectures will cover rules and conventions to follow in academic pursuits, as well as exercises on collecting public statistics, including price statistics and alternative data.
