Architecture & Professional Contexts
Description
This module builds on the module Architect and Society, placing greater emphasis on the role of the architect as a professional within the construction industry. Knowing: Whilst you may be familiar with a role of architect as a designer of form and space, this module introduces the wider professional contexts, including the legal, regulatory constraints and environmental, social and ethical considerations faced by architects to shape our built environment. Acting: In groups you will be asked to consider a range of authentic scenarios that will challenge your team to make professional judgements and consider appropriate courses of action and consider the broader implications of your decision making. Being: Through this module you will continue to develop your professional mindset including consideration of professional conduct, responsibilities and ethical practice. Through the collaborative activities you will develop confidence to work as part of a team. You will continue to reflect on your self-development and develop a holistic view of your architectural learning.
