Architect & Society
Description
Knowing: This module will be your first opportunity to understand what it means to become an architect, both as a key player within the construction industry and also as part of broader society. This will draw together elements from other modules and allow you to reflect on your own learning journey. You will be introduced to professionalism, the industry and the ethics. Acting: Through a series of workshops and group activities, you will reflect upon the role of architects in understanding the needs of clients and stakeholders, considering how architects operate ethically as part of their work. Being: The module will allow you to reflect upon your own skills, perspectives and personal development as you embark on your future journey in architecture. Many of you will not have studied architecture prior to coming to university and some of you may be unfamiliar with the way the profession operates, and even the language used by architects. This module will help you to de-mystify the nature of how architectural practice operates now, but also consider how it may develop into the future.
