
Supporting Individuals with ASD and Their Families Across the Lifespan
Description
This course introduces students to a variety of issues and topics relevant to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, and those who support them. Students will learn how to collaborate with and effectively support families and other team members and support the development of academic, leisure, friendship/social, sexual, and vocational skills, in addition to investigating other topics and issues of special interest. Weekly Hours Pattern: (4,0,0) Course Length: 15 weeks Prerequisites: ABA 344 Assessment/Exam Context: Assessment, exams, and grading vary by course; CapU uses a letter grade system for GPA. Exchange Registration Note: Incoming exchange course registration requires pre-approval through CapU's Exchange Student Course Approval Form. Exchange students can usually take courses in approved programs, while specific courses outside those programs are limited and seat approval is not guaranteed.
